  2. For real? I was 12 yo in 1974 and would soon be experiencing the WWW for the first time at some point soon enough back then. I remember hearing this in the radio. It was one of those "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" moments when it was played on your favorite station. You kids have no idea what I'm talking about,do you?

  3. if they ever want to do a study of the use of marijuana on the youth .. just go find someone who grew up in the 60's and 70's at 35.00 a bag and when a cop found weed on you … he usually took it for himself

  4. Is there another song for the intro he played on the guitar at the beginning? My dad used to play a song that started that way. He'd play it every time he sat down to pick and grin. Right after tuning up his guitar.

  5. I was privileged to hear this great entertainer when we went to Branson a number of years ago. He was a fantastic singer as well as a GENUINE Southern gentleman. We waited 45 minutes to talk to he and his wife after the show. It was almost midnight before it was our turn, and he was just as happy and cordial with us as the first people he talked to. I am and will always be a JIM Stanford fan! God Bless you JIM!

  6. Thanks for doing the true (or close) version, this take me back to my teens, The watered down versions almost make me feel old…almost, then I take a big old puff on the flower and everything is fine, even at 58.

  7. The first song that my brother and I learned from our father who passed away 20 years ago. Never really knew the history of the song before. That was 40 years ago, fond memories. My brother is 51, and I will be 50 in a few months. We both can still play this song in multiple chords, great old song, thank you dad..
