Easy How To Clean Up A Dirty Percolator Coffee Maker & Pot.

Easy How To Clean Up A Coffee Percolator Pot. Run 1/4 cup of baking soda through regular cycle then run 1/2 cup vinegar cycle. Then run regular water cycle.

  1. im trying this, i have a perculater, i only use once in a while cause i don't drink tons of coffee, but it was given to me and i keep it for company, it does taste great but i cant find filters for it i use regular filters but its a pain to punture a hole for to stick to fit through

  2. I tried this, but I used Arm & Hammer Laundry Booster Super Washing Soda instead, also know as sodium carbonate or soda ash. It's very similar to baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and is the main ingredient in coffee maker cleaning solutions. Worked so well I was able to skip the vinegar.

  3. I don't see any reason to use an electric percolator over a conventional coffee maker. The cleanup is no easier (the best reason for using a percolator, IMO). Just started using a stove top percolator myself. So much easier cleanup and great tasting coffee (recently divorce–making coffee for one; cue the sad trombone).

  4. TO save time I put the vinegar and soda in together and plugged it in. the phone rang so I left the room. when I came back that pot and blown the lid off and there was suds all over the room! but the pot was clean as a new!

  5. Next time when finished let it sit for a while. Also buy some bar keepers friend at hardware store and it will take all that off. It is a non toxic clenser I use to clean up my air fryer of burnt on grease. It comes off like a dream. Also percolated coffee makes better coffee because it boils, drip does not.

  6. 2 heaping tablespoons of Oxi-Clean fill to top with water let sit overnight. Don't waste your time with cleaning vinegar, liquid bleach baking soda and the like. I did all that and it didn't work, I can vouch for the Oxi-Clean. TheReaper!

  7. Thank you. I don't know why I never cleaned my percolator. It was 6 years and after doing the baking soda, then vinegar, then baking soda, then plain water it is much cleaner. There was a lot of black junk coming out after the first two cycles. Can't wait to try coffee out tomorrow morning.

  8. Gone for years without any cleaning and after this, it still stained. Nead more soda so will try again. [Edit] It sure got a lot of stain out but not all. {dit, Edit] After the first clean in probably over a decade I've found how much better my cup of coffee tases!

  9. I use Draino to clean mine. 4 teaspoons, put the basket, stem & basket lid on the bottom & fill with hot water. Let soak for 30 minutes, rinse thoroughly obviously & your done. Comes out looking brand new

  10. Easiest way to clean to perfection is to pour some automatic dishwashing liquid or or powder in the the brew basket, fill up the pot and let it perk…works better than you could ever imagine…no hassle…
